Our office attended a course offered by Dr. Storms recently and we really enjoyed learning about Airway Friendly Orthodontics and Sleep Breathing Disorders. We also had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Lance Manning discuss in detail about Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in adults and children.

There are many factors that can be associated to OSA such as; type II diabetes, systemic hypertension, heart disease, and heart failure. We were able to learn more about symptoms to look for in children for sleep apnea such as poor attention and ADHD. Our team was shown the extensive research of sleep disorders and the prevalence of strokes. Example images of what obstructive tonsillar hyperplaisa looks like was given to us to help look for these signs in our pediatric patients.

We really appreciated Dr. Manning sharing his knowledge with the dental community so we can better serve our adult and pediatric patients. Our goal is to always stay up to date with dental and medical knowledge to provide better care for our patients and address their whole health and not just their dental health.
